Job Description

Kaleido makes visual AI accessible for everyone! Join our team in Vienna as a Data Admin (m/f/x) responsible for Image Labeling Quality in the field of Visual AI. Help us build a high quality foundation of images to train AI models that are used 150+ million times every month (by 20m+ users)! Our products are market-leading solutions for automated background removal and creating perfect designs of images with Artificial Intelligence. Kaleido is a Canva company and as such we are working closely with the teams of Canva to empower the world to design and we make complicated tech simple to use for everyone. If you are not familiar with the job title, the following ones would also be applicable: data associate, data specialist, or data quality specialist.

Tasks
  • Be in charge of building the foundation for great AI models. Our product roadmap includes new AIs that need to be trained with annotated image data (based on client requirements and/or internal annotation guidelines). You are responsible for quality control of those annotations.
  • Proactively screen our existing database in order to find suitable images for the next AI training run based on pre-set criteria and therefore help us to provide the quality foundation for our market leading visual AI solutions.
  • Involvement in newest technologies in the AI/Computer Vision space by reviewing, categorizing and quality control of image data using our Training Data Platform.
  • Collect and handle large volumes of data. As a data quality specialist, you check up to 1,000 images per working day based on pre-set criteria.
  • Handle communication with labeling partners, quality check the image batches you receive from them and work in-sync with the other members of your team to meet weekly goals of providing sufficient training data images.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented way of working: You are eager to look closely at each image and don't shy away from quality assessment based on single pixels. For example, you are able to spot the subtle differences between shibas and marshmallows. Or between a Sloth or Pain au Chocolat :-).
  • Self-motivated. In this position, you conduct repetitive and at the same time highly business critical tasks (as the AI quality depends on the quality of its training data). Therefore, you need to be able to follow complex instructions on how to assess the image quality as well as keeping up your power of concentration.
  • You are a "computer native". This means you have a passion for information technology and working with a PC. You know how to use your computer most effectively and constantly strive to improve your desktop productivity (e.g. by using keyboard shortcuts and tools/apps to raise efficiency).
  • Excellent, fluent English skills (both written and spoken). We are a highly diverse team, consisting of 17+ nationalities and our primary internal amp; external communication language is English.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes in priorities, e.g. when it comes to adaptations of the AI models and the assessment criteria of training data (images).
  • You will be part of our Data Labeling Team and you are used to working as part of a team that is self-organizing.

Benefits

  • Work in one of the fastest-growing startups in Austria surrounded by like-minded people. Our visual AI products are industry-leading solutions used by millions of people worldwide.
  • Join an international team in Vienna (currently approx. 40 people from 17+ nationalities) and have the ability to co-shape the company and our products.
  • We have recently become a part of the Canva family. Our collaboration with teams around the globe supercharges our work to empower the world to design. You will have the chance to work closely with other devs from Kaleido and Canva.
  • You will have a flexible work schedule of 38.5h/week and a no all-in contract. Work remotely, from our office located in Vienna's 3rd district, or mix-and-match. We can easily find an option that works best for you and Kalei
