Job Description

Sustainable energy is more important than ever. aWATTar is a subsidiary of tado and the first power supplier in Austria and Germany with a tariff that is dynamic on an hourly basis and with this, we create not only new saving opportunities for our customers but also more space for solar and wind power in the grid. We have been awarded the Greenstar(t) prize of the Austrian Climate Fund and have also started disrupting the German market with our innovative offerings. We now have strong financial backing from the leading smart home scale-up tado, and the trend towards electric mobility and heat solutions additionally fuel our growth. We are therefore looking for a new team member as Energy Portfolio Analyst (m/w/d) - part-time (20h) in Vienna.


Your tasks
  • Generate day-ahead power consumption and (mainly solar PV) feed-in forecasts in order to keep our portfolio in balance on a quarter hourly basis
  • Generate long-term forecasts based on growth projections
  • Regularly check and improve the operational functionality/quality of forecasts
  • Implement daily power procurement orders with trading counterparts
  • Automate forecasting and procurement/trading processes, incl. quality checks
  • Help fulfil data reporting duties vis-a-vis grid operators and public authorities
  • Provide analytical support for future product development, esp. related to marketing flexibility in different new energy markets, e.g. developing optimization strategies for the Intraday market (this part could also form the basis of a Master’s thesis)

Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate with academic degree
  • Highly analytical personality with determination to get to thorough solutions
  • You have as many as possible of the following analytical, quantitative and programming skills:
    - Neural networks / AI and Statistics
    - SQL database query language
    - Python or Node JS programming experience
  • MS Excel/Google Sheets at advanced level a plus
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility, ready to challenge existing processes/ideas
  • Ready to take on and work on criticism, high degree of independence and integrity
  • Strong team player
  • German language proficiency is a strong plus
