Exscientia is an AI-driven pharmatech company committed to discovering, designing and developing the best possible drugs in the fastest and most effective manner. Exscientia developed the first-ever functional precision oncology platform to successfully guide treatment selection and improve patient outcomes in a prospective interventional clinical study, as well as to progress AI-designed small molecules into the clinical setting. The HR Operations Manager position is crucial to our continuous growth.

To keep our international research work running smoothly and our people happy, our human resources team is in high demand. We are now looking for a HR Operations Manager (m/f/d) for 40 hours per week for our local team in Vienna. As the HR Operations Manager you will be involved in a very broad range of topics. You will actively ensure that daily operations processes are running and optimised constantly, while also supporting the development and expansion of the Vienna office as we continue to grow and thrive.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage and maintain employee related documentation and employee files including offer letters, contracts, change letters etc. for all Vienna-based employees
  • Manage our HRIS, including data input, reporting, and working with the HR team to continually improve HRIS functionality
  • Provide support with receiving and resolving all people related enquiries and requests
  • Provide support for the entire onboarding process for new starters - from contract generation, visa and relocation support, to on-site HR inductions and initial training organisation.
  • Administer company benefits in conjunction with third-party providers
  • Assist with monthly payroll preparation
  • Support our Talent Acquisition team throughout the entire recruitment process upon request, including scheduling and participating in interviews, as well as making sure that new hires have a smooth transition into their new job with us.
  • Assist with the creation of or optimization of our HR policies and support global HR and Talent Acquisition projects where needed.


  • Completed degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Human resources management or adjacent fields of study, or BSc degree in remotely related fields with HR-relevant work experience.
  • 1+ years working in an HR team or admin support
  • Excellent English spoken and written language skills
  • A talent for self-organization and time management
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and discretion
  • Team spirit, good communication skills and the desire to make a difference


  • HR education with specification on IT-supported automation
  • Completed or ongoing course in Austrian or international employment law
  • Good working knowledge of the German language
