FIRM OVERVIEW
We are a technology led hedge fund looking to hire a qualified Execution Trader. We are active traders in most global markets with a specialization in commodities. Our investment methodology leverages a strong understanding of market fundamentals combined with a quantitative and data driven process. Proprietary technology allows us to gather, store and efficiently access large amounts of fundamental data from a wide variety of sources which is used to identify market anomalies and build predictive models. Our team members combine strong technical skills with a passion for problem solving and an intellectual curiosity about financial markets.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced execution trader to monitor the trading of our strategies. The ideal candidate will be a junior to mid-level professional who has experience operating trading software, with some exposure to European Power and Gas markets (we are not looking for discretionary traders or traders who want to deploy their own strategy).
Frequent interaction with traders, researchers, and senior management will be required, which makes communication and collaboration skills essential.
JOB DESCRIPTION: EXECUTION TRADER FULL TIME
- Monitor trade execution using appropriate trading software.
- Maintain and upgrade existing spreadsheets and trading tools.
- Work closely with operations team, brokers, and PB's to assure proper trade allocations and resolve breaks.
- Monitor the behavior of execution algorithms and partner with researchers and senior management to improve execution quality and reduce market impact.
- Interact with brokers and bank dealing desks to source liquidity if needed.
- Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned such as ad hoc report generation.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of trading desk experience.
- Proficient with Excel, knowledge of Python.
- Knowledge of commodity markets, particularly power and gas, is a big plus
- Understanding of Order Management and Execution Management Systems.
- Familiarity with the mechanics of futures markets.
- Excellent communication skills, self-starter, quick learner, positive attitude, and team player.
- Strong analytical skills.
